Business Development Professional

BOLTGROUP, a design innovation + experience firm, is looking for a business development professional. The ideal candidate for this role will have worked in the field of design  and know how to meet ambitious individual sales goals, identify marketing activities to generate leads, and be familiar working with CRM/MA. Ultimately, the successful Business Development Professional has a track record of achieving new business quotas, while continuing to build value in the relationship with their clients. This is a person to person consultative sales role.

Duties include identifying, initiating connection and contact, and securing discussions with senior-level business executives in companies where BOLTGROUP services and expertise can provide meaningful value. The central role for this person is finding and securing mutually-benefitting business opportunities in the south and central eastern US. The preferred professional will work well independently, but also coordinate effectively with our cross-functional internal teams (research, design, project management, executive) to deliver the entire customer experience. This position will require some travel, based on prospective client locations.

Here’s What’s Required:

  • Proven work experience and success with consultative selling in new business development roles
  • Experience aligning consulting service solutions to C-Suite challenges across a broad range of business types
  • Business development and/or sales experience in design or innovation consulting, management consulting, or other agency related field
  • Knowledge of the research and development process for products, brands, and/or services
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present, and influence prospects at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level
  • Solid experience with CRM/MA systems and MS Office.
  • Experience delivering client-centric propositions and proposals to meet and exceed client needs
  • Proven ability to lead and manage the complete new business development cycle
  • Excellent probing, listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong sense of customer service

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Here’s What Else You’ll Need to Bring to the Party:

  • Bachelor or higher degree in business, marketing, design, or other applicable field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years successful track record of consultative sales with commensurate results
  • Strong references from prior employer(s) and customers
