We are seeking a creative Industrial Design intern for summer 2025 who possesses a natural curiosity for all things design. This person will support the Product Design team with activities like user research, brainstorming, design sketch ideation, Frankenstein prototypes, VBL development, CMF exploration, CAD modeling, renderings, and general office tasks. This intern will be a critical extension of the Product Design team supporting client projects ranging from startups to Fortune 500 brands.

This paid opportunity is based in our Charlotte, NC, studio and is open to talented juniors, seniors, and recent graduates. Minimum Qualifications:

• Positive energy, extra drive, electric ideas, and natural curiosity
• Belief in the user-centered design process to translate consumer insights into meaningful product experiences through function and appropriate aesthetics
• Great communicator with solid verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Great organizational and problem-solving skills supporting multiple projects at once
• Comfortable presenting ideas professionally and taking feedback

Preferred ID Qualifications:

• Proficiency in day-to-day applications like Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Proficiency in Industrial Design sketch ideation (analog AND digital) for idea and form development
• Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD modeling (bonus points for basic surface modeling)
• Proficiency in Keyshot 3D rendering
• Proficiency with wood / metal model shop equipment producing rough prototypes
• Interest in FDM and SLA 3D printing
• Interest in designing consumer and industrial products
• Interest in the application of emerging product trends or new technologies
• Interest in developing mechanical aptitude with consideration for materials and manufacturing processes
• A unique combination of passion, collaboration, vision, innovation, enthusiasm, and work ethic advocating for the end user

Education:

• Student or recent graduate of an accredited Industrial Design program
