Staff Mechanical Engineer

We’re seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer who will contribute to all phases of product development and engineering, from concept to implementation. Your primary focus is on development, prototyping, testing, refinement, and documentation of innovative conceptual designs for physical products and solutions. You will work closely with designers, researchers, and other engineers to bring a wide variety of innovative ideas to life.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Translate design concepts into manufacturable products in a variety of categories 
  • Develop and refine mechanical designs for parts, assemblies, and systems 
  • Build, test, and analyze study models and prototypes 
  • Prepare and review engineering documentation 
  • Collaborate with designers, other engineers, clients, and vendor partners to ensure the success of product development projects 
  • Work with the design team to execute the strategy, vision, and project plan established by creative directors, project managers, and senior designers  
  • Present designs to internal teams and clients for feedback and approval 
  • Full time role with minimum 3 days/week on-site  

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering 
  • 2-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering 
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles 
  • Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills 
  • Resilient, flexible, positive attitude 
  • Well organized with good time management skills 
  • Motivated to learn, build skills, and take responsibility 

Nice to Have: 

  • Experience with plastic part design & manufacturing  
  • Experience designing and engineering appearance-critical parts 
  • Experience with 3D printing and other rapid prototyping technologies 
  • Experience with electrical design 
  • Experience with new product development
